Behalve de brandweer is ook het energiebedrijf ter plaatse gekomen. Brandweerlieden zijn direct begonnen met het uitvoeren van metingen. Daarbij werd ook de straat afgezet. Volgens agenten ter plaatse ging het om een fors gaslek. De gaslek is vermoedelijk veroorzaakt door werkzaamheden in de tuin.
